چکیده

Abstract The gasification of sewage sludge (SS) and digestate was investigated in a pilot-scale fluidized bed gasifier with an output 100 kW t . treatment these by-products is ongoing challenge for sustainable development. SS are most commonly used as fertilizers. However, regulations restrict their use, mainly because the content heavy metals, pathogens bacteria. Gasification instead application to agricultural land seems be more efficient, syngas can subsequently combined heat power (CHP) generation. A series measurements were carried out get better understanding process fuels study effects gasifying agent on composition, particulate matter (PM) tar. produced tar analyzed using gas chromatograph mass spectrometry (GC–MS). results showed that no ash slagging observed therefore it feasible operate at 750°C. lower heating value (LHV) from air comparable, 4.06 MJ·Nm −3 4.11 SS. addition steam had positive effect amount dew point, which below 150°C. An Experimental Investigation of Sewage Sludge Gasification in a Fluidized Bed Reactor

The gasification of sewage sludge was carried out in a simple atmospheric fluidized bed gasifier. Flow and fuel feed rate were adjusted for experimentally obtaining an air mass : fuel mass ratio (A/F) of 0.2 < A/F < 0.4. Fuel characterization, mass and power balances, produced gas composition, gas phase alkali and ammonia, tar concentration, agglomeration tendencies, and gas efficiencies were a...

Three-dimensional modeling of a circulating fluidized bed gasifier for sewage sludge

A three-dimensional model of a circulating fluidized bed gasifier was developed, which uses continuous radial profiles of velocities and solids hold-up with regard to the description of fluid mechanics. A complex reaction network of sewage sludge gasification is included in the model. In the simulation calculations the influence of the axial location and the number of feeding points was examine...

Theoretical and Experimental Study of Potato Shoot Gasification in Fluidized- and Fixed-Bed Gasifier

A bench-scale updraft gasifier was used as a fluidized- and fixed-bed gasification unit in three modes (fluidized-bed at equivalence ratios (ER) =0.2 and 0.25, and a mode in fixed-bed). The experiments were done in five different temperatures (650, 700, 750, 800 and 850oC). To obtain the required data to develop a thermodynamic equilibrium model, the proximate and ultimate analysis w...

Prediction of Rice Husk Gasification on Fluidized Bed Gasifier Based on Aspen Plus

A biomass gasification model was developed using Aspen Plus based on the Gibbs free energy minimization method. This model aims to predict and analyze the biomass gasification process using the blocks of the RGibbs reactor and the RYield reactor. The model was modified by the incomplete equilibrium of the RGibbs reactor to match the real processes that take place in a rice husk gasifier. The mo...
